Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who can enter?
Entry is open to any Assyrian-owned business that operates in New South Wales (NSW) and holds a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)/Australian Company Number (ACN). Each business must also meet the specific entry criteria outlined for each individual award category. Whether you’re a sole trader, partnership, or company, as long as the business is majority Assyrian-owned and meets the relevant criteria, you are encouraged to participate.
Can I nominate a business for more than one category?
Yes, businesses can be nominated for more than one award category. However, it is important that the business aligns with the criteria for each category entered. Carefully review the category descriptions and requirements to ensure the nominations are appropriate. This provides greater recognition opportunities across various areas of excellence, such as innovation, customer service, and community contribution.
Are submissions confidential?
Absolutely. We take confidentiality seriously. All information submitted as part of the nomination process is treated as confidential and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Only the judging panel and key personnel involved in administering the awards will have access to your submissions. Your data will be used solely for the purpose of judging the awards and will not be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent.
How is the judging process conducted?
The awards are determined through a community-based vote, allowing members of the community to recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions within each category. This process ensures that winners reflect the values and priorities of the community itself. Once the votes are tallied, finalists are selected, and winners will be announced at the awards ceremony. This approach emphasises inclusivity, transparency, and the importance of community engagement in the decision-making process.
